About Us

Yoga therapy is very beneficial for a wide variety of health related conditions. There is a tendency to want to extract specific techniques and to apply them to specific conditions. This reverts back to the old mechanistic paradigm of Newtonian physics of, "If 'a' exists, all I have to do is apply 'b' and I'll get solution 'c'." While this may frequently work with yoga therapy techniques, it breaks from the wholistic or Quantum paradigm of Integrative medicine and robs the practitioner of the full richness of yoga.

The true power of yoga therapy results when a teacher points the client or patient toward self-awareness and empowerment, resulting in a lifelong psychospiritual development that enjoys the fruits of improved physical health. The following are therefore only pointers, with the key being that the individual be fully supported at all levels, not just the material or physical level. What follows on the referenced pages is intended to stimulate thinking and discussion, not substitute for either. If you are familiar with other asana or techniques, please let us know and we will update the page accordingly.
